Naukuchia Tal: The meaning of Naukuchia Tal is Nine-Cornered Lake. Naukuchia Tal is set at an elevation of 1220mts above sea level, and at a distance of 44kms from Haldwani. The length of the lake is approximately 1km and around 40m in deep. It is the deepest lake in the greater Naintal area. According to myths, if one takes a glimpse of all the nine corners at once, one can disappear in a cloud of smoke, which means that it is impossible to look at all nine corners of the lake at once with your foots on the ground. Naukuchiatal is situated in an enchanting valley providing ample scope for rowing, paddling and yatching.
Khurpa Tal: Khurpa Tal is an attractive lake situated around 11kms from Nainital. Khurpa Tal is situated at an altitude of 1,635mts above sea level. Khurpa Tal is angler’s paradise and this place is surrounded by terraced fields, from which it presumably got its name.
Ranikhet: Ranikhet is a hill station in Almora District of Uttarakhand state. Ranikhet is also the home for Kumaon regiment and Naga regiment of Indian Army. Mukteshwar: It is situated at an elevation of 2285mts above sea level, 61kms from the town of Haldwani. Mukteshwar got its name from a 350year old temple Mukteshwer Dham whose presiding deity is great Lord Shiva. The top of the mountain on which Mukteshwar Dham is stood offers stupendous views of Himalayan range. Mukteshwar was developed by the Britishers as research and education institute (IVRI) in 1893.
Jim Corbett National Park: It is situated in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand state and is also India's oldest national park being established in 1936. The park was named after hunter turned conservationist Jim Corbett. Jim Corbett National park is situated 60kms from Haldwani. The park contains 488 different species of plants and wide variety of wild life including elephant, tiger, chital, Sambar Deer, nilgai, gharial, King Cobra, muntjac, wild boar, hedgehog, common musk shrew, flying fox, Indian Pangolin, and around 600 species of birds.
